On September 29 – October 1, 2011 the V International scientifical-practical conference “Marketing of innovations and innovations in marketing” (MIIM 2011) took place on the basis of the Department of Marketing of the Sumy State Universityю

On the 5th anniversary conference materials from 160 participants (120 reports) were received. Among them are 23 doctors, 57 PhD, 22 post-graduate students, 13 teachers, 22 assistants, 10 students and 7 enterprise representatives from Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria.

The geography of the conference participants: Bulgaria (Bourgas, Varna), Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk), Ukraine (Sumy, Kyiv , Kharkov, Odessa, Poltava, Lviv, Kremenchug, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Khmelnitsky, Makeevka, Krivoy Rog, Lugansk, Severodonetsk, Zaporozhye, Kirovograd, Energodar).


Materials of the conference include the developments from 51 universities and scientific organizations, among them 7 are foreign.

In the conference the developments of domestic and foreign enterprises’ and organizations’ representatives also are presented, namely:

  3. “Financial company “Center for Financial Solutions”, Kyiv;

  6. Publishing house “Papyrus” ltd., Sumy;
  7. “Specobladnannya”, Sumy.

V International Scientific Conference "Marketing of innovations and innovations in marketing" passed in 4 sections:

  • Marketing of innovations;
  • Innovations in Marketing;
  • Environmental Marketing;
  • Management of potential innovative development on the basis of marketing.


Among the most meaningful and compelling presentations that covered the methodological and theoretical aspects of marketing of innovation and marketing innovation, should note the following:  "Discussion aspects of strategic marketing" (Doctor of Economics, Prof. N. Kudenko); "Integration of marketing into enterprise' innovative activity" (Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. S. Kovalchuk); "Methodological approaches to evaluating the innovative development of marketing activities of enterprises" (Doctor of Economics, Prof. T. Maksimova); "Benchmarking as a tool of generating the competitive advantages" (Doctor of Economics, Prof. P. Pererva); "Innovation setback in commodity structure of foreign trade in Ukraine" (Doctor of Economics, Prof. T. Melnik); "Analysis of Internet technologies and techniques application in modern marketing" (Doctor of Economics, Prof. S. Illiashenko); "Risks of innovative development of Energetics of Ukraine" (Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. N. Karayeva, I. Segeda); "The marketing paradigm of innovative competitive advantages of enterprises" (Doctor of Economics, Prof. N. Karpenko, M. Ivannikova); "The main directions of social and ethical marketing in forest complex of Ukraine" (Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. P. Kravets); "Resource and innovative potential of the enterprise: essence and principles of evaluation" (Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. O. Popova); "Globalized economy and Innovations" (Doctor of Economics, Prof. O. Teletov); "The technological segmentation" (Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. V. Shumeyko).


During the Conference second working day a round table on problems of marketing in education sphere was held. A lively discussion on questions of competition in the educational market, on problems of surviving in a high school demographic crisis and on the promotion of new specialties in the education market were raised. Do not left aside the issues of forming of universities’ brands and practice of using of marketing communication tools in the education sphere.

Overall, during the V International scientific-practical conference “Marketing of Innovations and Innovations in Marketing” the following issues were covered:

  • methodological and theoretical foundations of marketing of innovations;
  • commodity innovation policy of a modern enterprise;
  • management of innovation lifecycle;
  • brand management in the context of marketing of innovations;
  • demand formation and promotion of innovative product on the market;
  • management of innovations' marketing risks;
  • potential of innovative development on the basis of marketing;
  • innovations in marketing;
  • new methods of marketing researches;
  • new marketing strategies and coverage of the target segment;
  • marketing of environmental innovations;
  • marketing in education sphere.

Participants of conference have made the decision to carry out the conference “Marketing of innovations and innovations in marketing” next year on the basis of the Department of Marketing of Sumy State University.

By results of the IV International scientific-practical conference “Marketing of innovations and innovations in marketing” will be published a collective monograph.
